We are looking for a dynamic, creative, and collaborative self-starter who thrives in an environment of innovation to join our Health & Wellness Team. In support of our Community Strategic Plan: Innovative Innisfil 2030, being true to the values: “Community First. Future Next. Balance Always.” and in support of “Our Health” the Community Health and Wellness Strategy, you will develop, implement, and evaluate key initiatives for the health and wellness of our community.

You will establish high-quality community kitchen and other community focused health and wellness programs, aiming to increase community food literacy and security, increase awareness of the importance of healthy lifestyle management, and promote personal health behaviours, and will be responsible for:

 

  • Developing and maintaining strategic and collaborative partnerships with community members and organizations, and local agencies to successfully develop and implement health and wellness programming.
  • Planning and facilitating Horodynsky Community Kitchen programming, including developing content, teaching resources, and providing food and nutrition education and food skill sessions that engage a diverse range of participants.
  • Developing, measuring, and reporting on performance metrics to identify the reach, effectiveness and efficiency of programs and outreach activities.
  • Creating public awareness on health and wellness initiatives through a variety of communication channels.

Qualifications:

The preferred candidate holds:

 

  • Post-secondary education in an area related to health and wellness.
  • Minimum of one (1) to three (3) years’ experience developing, implementing, facilitating and evaluating health and wellness programming, including teaching kitchen/food skills programming.
  • Knowledge of food, food science, menu planning, food preparation techniques, kitchen equipment, food safety and budgeting.
  • Food handler training and certification is required.
  • Valid Class "G" driver's licence in good standing and reliable vehicle to use on corporate business.
  • Availability to accommodate deadlines and attend evening and/or weekend meetings or other events as required.
